A new hosting provider, a new blog format, and totally new content. And a new company as well!

After nearly four years, I’ve left Atlassian. It was a great ride and I am very proud to be a part of the SaaSification of Atlassian’s awesome products. It was a long road to turning the huge monolithic ship towards distributed microservices on commodity cloud. Now it has turned, and a new challenge has been presented to me by another exciting Australian startup: Canva.

Canva

Canva makes it amazingly simple for everyone to create professional quality graphic designs. Its online design platform brings together a simple drag-and-drop design tool and a library of more than one million photographs, graphics and fonts, allowing anyone to take an idea and present it beautifully in print or online.

Canva can be used to design almost anything: presentations, posters, blog content, cards, online marketing materials, invitations, flyers and so much more. For more information on Canva, visit the website or follow the company on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram or Pinterest.

I love disrupting dysfunctional incumbants with innovative software, and Canva is well on the way to doing that with graphic design. I’ll be focussing on making Canva scale (the technology as well as the engineering team) to enable more users, more designs, more features, and more content.
